Just lie low until the better weather... crap weather doesn't inspire when it comes to doing stuff to motors (esp. when you don't HAVE to).

Get to work figuring out what you are going to do, buying parts etc., then before you know it it'll be a sunny weekend and you have a spanner in your hand.

As previously said the weather kicks the hell out of all the best intentions to get motivated, especially for the bigger jobs.
4 weeks until the clocks go, that extra hour of daylight and hopefully some warmer weather to go with it  8)

As above really, the weather really put me off doing the other door mirror cos it was so cold I couldn't hold the screwdriver, lol.
If you were to make a list of things you want to do, then maybe work out how long each job would take, prioritise in to order so you're not re-doing stuff if you see what I mean. By then you'll have a list of main jobs that need to be done followed by jobs you want to do, then stuff you could do but are a bonus...

Cheers

Try having plans to grind out and re-weld 2 sills and an arch, drill and easy-out an engine mount bolt, then fine-tune the ECU. I can't pluck up the enthusiasm!

Speaking from HUGE experience of loosing enthusiasm on cars (mainly 165's...lol) I would say as long as you have another car and the 165 isn't costing you anything, just walk away for a bit and before you know it you'll have light nights and warm weather again. I only work on my car now when I'm in the mood, because I know I'll enjoy it more then. So, every now and then I go out and do a bit. My only problem is TOO many projects at the mo...
165 on the back burner for now
162, just had to take the head off with suspected gasket - turns out I was right  00)
GSXR600 - almost finished now  :D
RM250 - waiting in the wings for some summer fun off roading  ;D
New E34 525i Touring that will no doubt end up on 18's and lowered.....lol ;D

Not to mention finishing my drive, building my new workshop and all the other DIY I have on :o :o :( c r a p lol

1988 - TTE Rally replica ST165 (For sale)
2008 - Yamaha R1 (For fun)

Weird thing is i WANT to get it back on the road... miss the power.. uniqueness.. comfortability..hearing the engine as the daily i cant bloody hear (age) and half time aint sure if running its so quiet !! so all in place to get the enthusiasm... just not the enthusiasm lol

think in part is the lack of being able to get crank nut off so i am not bothering with the other stuff.................. Still as you all say perhaps with better weather, sun shining and the thought that Wiggy has a lot more to do than me might just spur me on

Chris

Nuts stuck as its a 165... enough said on that lol

Tried only a 5 ft bar on  it and proceeded to break the birttax torque wrench in half

cant get a power tool on it as its at my house nad at moment unmovable,,,, it aint in a garage so weather has a lot to do with it also

"driveby"  mine managed to cover 11000 miles last year and went straight thru MOT no advisories... thpugh plenty to do now 6 months later
