Great Driving Roads
« on: June 08, 2009, 09:33:47 pm »
I was contemplating my next roadtrip and got to thinkin'... Would it not be a good idea to have a 'Sticky' with, for example, a link to a customised google map of everyone's favourite driving roads? That way, we can benefit from each other's knowledge of their own patch/experience when planning a fun route somewhere.

Just a poor example... http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?hl=en&ie=UTF8&msa=0&msid=116507298271825333633.00046bdbaf16fa83e6c8c&z=10

Whaddyathink?

Its quite a good idea, and the Auchtertool road is a great road. Don't think I've been on the one out of Auchtermuchty but I might take a trip one night :)

I know it well, as it's on my patch for work. It has a horrible, horrible crossroads which lies in a dip in the A road. The hairpin is pretty unique, I bet there's been a few tarmac rally impersonations on there.

The thing is, I have lots of roads I love, but for some reason I can't remember many specifics right now! D'oh!

Awesome road, have driven it about about 10 times in the past 4 months :D

Generally manage to do Newcastle to Penrith in 1hr 30mins via that route

12.808 1/4 mile on stock internals, turbo and ecu.

Now gone to the dark side!

If anyone has any further suggestions i'll mark them on the map. I may develop the idea further if there is sufficient input.
