yeah if your fine with spending a fortune on oil and rebuilds they are. Love the noise of the rotary still though and would love an RX7.

RX8's are cheap now.. just the cost of oil and petrol that puts me off :(
Previously a UK WRC ST205 & a CS (UK !*%)
Now.... a 1970 Triumph 13/60 convertible, a Hyindai Amica and a Honda CR-Z Hybrid :)

you forgot about the price of rotary tips and labour for putting them in jeff. My woman likes them but she wants a DC5 ITR next.

Didn't they sort the Apex tips out on the RX8 engine? I know from when I had my old RX7 a lot of the other owners were retro fitting RX8 tips into their engines...
I'd love another, fuel wasn't too bad on it and I never had any probs with the engine....Maybe I was lucky? Until I wrapped it round 2 lamp posts.... ;D

What's the power delivery like on these *BLEEP*el efforts? And what max rpm is the norm? Just interested is all.

Something that small could spin up to ~tens of Krpms but not much more I suspect, power output of those is currently 2.5W - you could produce more power by standing in front of a wind turbine and shouting at it  ;D

Theres an RX7 (1984) being given away by someone where I work, kept under covers in the drive for 2+ years but running fine last time it was used. No takers as yet.

would be awesome to put say four of those little motors together into one, and use it in a very small rc car, would go nuts!  ;D
