We've had 2 dogs for many a year now but today has changed a little.
Not sure how long we'll have her, it all depends on what the outcome is tomorrow.

We were driving down the road and this poor little dog just walked in front of the car. It looked me in the eyes as if to say,
'go on mate...put your foot down and make it worth while'
So...I stopped, r lass jumped out to get the poor little bugger of the road as I parked up and next thing we know we are both humming from cow sh*t (Cheers new dog)
Anyway, first thing I thought was the police station we were passing. Went in there and there were notices all over politely saying,
'If you've found a stray, bog off elsewhere'
I called the number I was given and they gave me a choice, take the dog home for the night or call another number which were some local kennels.
Now obviously there was going to be no exciting trip around B&Q seen as we were both stinking so on the way home I called the kennels...and again...and again ...and again ...and again ...getting the picture? So passing them we called in...no answer on the front door , no answer on the back door , and of course...no answer on the side door

So here we are, we have a reference number from the council...but they took no details from me
Gonna see how we get it scanned for a chip tomorrow and also going to go around the local area putting found notices up.
Don't really want it going to the poound. The poor bugger only looks about 9/10 months old and rather skinny.

I'm really feeling quite sad about her. I'm sure there will be somebody out there missing her tonight but we tried everything we could for now

Aw poor girl, she looks a little under weight, and she's def a staffy cross bless her.  You know you want to keep her bud.  We also went from 2 to 3 last night, see Dees remission present post   
Both our Bassets are rescue cases, first one loving pet but family in the army and moving to ireland and couldnt take her, so put her up for re-home, and Ted who we got last night was homeless due to a relationship break up, poor bugger, he's such a sweety but a bit on the tubby side

She's callaed Daisy. Cows are called Daisy and she smelt of cow...so there you go.

Both our dogs sleep in my office. Put her with them last night and she wouldn't settle. Opened up the spare room and she wouldn't settle in there either.
Only time she settled were when we let them in our room...and she slept UNDER the flaming bed. It was too late then though as it was 3am

R lass has pulled a sicky today and is going to contact all who needs to be contacted. If nobody comes forward we may just keep her.

Hmm...R Lass has had it to the vets this morning.
It is about 7 months old and malnourished. There is blood in its urine which is a sign of scavenging.
It aint chipped either

Both Bradford and Halifax Dog Warden have said they can take it in but if it isn't claimed within 7 days it will be put to sleep
So...we can't be having that can we?

Well no we can't have that at all can we! (I smell a familiar excuse there )

Unfortunatley councils have limited resources and facilities and have to make hard decisions. And the larger rescue centres such a RSPCA, Jerry Green, Dogs Trust, etc are so over run they actually have waiting lists to take dogs in. (I'm sure that the £100 adoption fee doesn't help the situation) 

Both of our basset hounds are rescues and we have just been asked to take another, (Don't think we can really). 

We will be getting both chipped, mainly because they are expensive dogs and prone to theft Although they are never out of Dees sight 

I've got the feeling that Daisy has already found her new home, I know she'll be looked after.

  No, the only other auction site is for men when the wives have got sick of the oily parts from their cars or bikes all over the house
