phone box
« on: March 02, 2008, 08:34:12 pm »
There was an incident in the middle of Jan not far from me where some poor sod was stabbed in a phone box, he's now doing ok but the investigation still going on to find out who did it.
I parked up today outside the local curry house (where the guy was stabbed in the phone box) to find that there was still a load of dried blood splattered all over the inside of the box. I could see kids looking at the blood too as they walked past.. i was wondering who is responsible for cleaning up the mess - is it me - should i go down there with a bucket or should BT be doing it...?

As you can imagine this is not something that you want to see every day - would be good to get it cleared up?

thats a bit harsh to still have a phone box covered in blood, surely thats a health risk? the bloke could have any sort of sti (not a subaru) or the likes :o

i would have thought either BT or your local council should have got it cleaned up asap, it's not really your job to do it.

but if you've got the time and you don't mind doin it...then invoice BT for cleaning it!

i think that BT should be informed as there is guys paid to go out and clean and maintain phoneboxes and if its there a while its showing they aren't doing their job..........

actually my uncle has the honour of cleaning phone boxes and bus selters!  he is appalled because they are supposed to be done on a rota basis and it should be done thoroughly every month or 6 weeks.

sadly he isnt on duty round your way... his patch is Stoke.  get them told - it;s pretty minging!

As far as I am aware there is normally a contractor to do these things, as said, on a contractual basis.
Somebody like NIC I think???

It's the last thing you should be doing though...bloody dispicable if you ask me >:(

ROB: I filed a complaint about one of your boxes over the internet
BT: Ooo that's strange we don't seem to have recieved it.
ROB: I filled the form out on the interrrrnet.
BT: It must have been lost in the post sir. Could you send another.
ROB: I FILED IT ON THE INTERNET
BT: Oh sorry sir. We don't do the internet. Would you like to carry out a questionaire on our service?
ROB: Not really
BT: Very well sir. It will only take a few moments of your time
ROB: But I said I didn't want to
BT: Our first question is...
ROB: I said no...
BT: In a word how would describe our service to you today.
ROB: SH!T...Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep

Wouldnt bother internetting them, I'd ring them on one of their freephone lines - will save time in the end.

It seems to me that privatisation has made just about every service company we had go to the dogs. Trains are crap, phone services are crap, buses are crap. We still pay for them in the form of subsidies, yet the companies refuse to invest in the infrastructure simply because it would bankrupt them to do so - you need a government body to be able to provide long-term investment, not companies that dont know if they'll lose the huge investment when their contract ends in 7 years.
Country is a farce.
