Classic Status for GT4's ?

Hi everybody,

Just thinking outloud, wonder how long before the GT4 is viewed as a "Classic Car",  entitled to cheap insurance, entry into classic retrospective rally events and such like.

my thoughts that the 165's, the 185 Carlos Sainz's and the 205 WRC versions should already qualify.

that leads me to think that if you have one of these models should you modify them or leave them standard ?

whats the outlook for these under rated Super cars.

any thoughts ?

as far as i know they do for insurance - just limited to mileage, not sure about the rest of it though

i have a classic policy on my Sainz and its not limited to milage either, so i'm assuming all 165's qualify and CS/RC's qualify with no problems 1993 cars my have to wait til next year though til they're 15yrs old but i don't think that'll be an issue waiting as its only around the corner

My sainz is on a modern classic policy that meant it didn't have to be over 15 years old but it does have limited mileage(5000).  Who's your car insured through Paul?

Classic insurance varies by company, anywhere from 10 to 25 years, limited mileage, stock parts, agreed value etc. If, like most quotes, you choose this route it will be worth shopping around to compare

Open and direct trevor, i have a mate there who got the milage sorted for me and this year i got an agreed value sorted too

Hi

I have tried to keep my CS fairly standard looking and avoided the "Bling Look"
Think I had a Classic insurance policy a year or so back, but not necessarily the cheapest?
Is it only another 11 years before I get free road tax?

No Stephen, the old 'K' 1971 or older gets ir free. They stopped the 25yr rule in 1996

My 165 is on a classic policy with the AA, cost me £196 this year
