Jeff, there is some discussion on the Jap North East forums a minute about these lines that are appearing on the roads.

You got any idea what the purpose of them is?

Arnt they traffic sensors? used for traffic lights, crossings or simply to count cars?

if its at traffic lights then i THINK its some sort o magnetic thingy that lets the lights know how many cars are there/passing over it so it can do some adjustment to the timing sequence and help traffic flow better.  eg no point in having green lights if nobody to use em so it might skip a turn or summat.

or not and it's just really accurate roadworks.

Yes well your right.
I gotta assume you mean the 'cuts' in the wearing course (now know as something else ..DT?)where a wire has been inserted?
For your peronal and private information (not to be divulged to anyone outside the club) these wires are connected to a transmognifer which detects brain waves and tom toms and road angles and all of them things that people believe help them 'not' get caught if they do something wrong. Well I'm sorry but big brother has taken over and you cannot even fart in your own car now without it being recorded.
Actually they are anti smoking detectors, any wiff of nicotine or smoke and the next traffic light will hold you on red untill the 'agents' arrive in their sooped up fiestas and cart you away to the gas chamber.
Fook me man its Friday!
They ar ejust traffic detectors to count how many vehiles go by., if prior to traffic lights they are, as stated, just to help keep the traffic flowing... they go ping when a metal body goes over, bit knackered if it is a TVR or such!!
