Chilled, but very annoyed...
« on: August 17, 2007, 12:40:27 am »
... at m-way motorists who persist at looking at RTA's - Road Traffic Accidents... ON THE FOOKIN OTHER SIDE OF THE BLOODY ROAD.... AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

For soooo long now, I've been in the middle / end of M-way jams... sometimes 10k+ tailbacks. And what do you see at the pinnicle point of all this jamming??? Rubber necks, thats what. You've just spent an obscene amount of time in a jam, only to realise the cause of this jam was M-way users RUBBER NECKING. I wouldn't mind if the cause of the tailback was in my direction... but to see PEOPLE slow the fcuk down, just so they can see summit on the friggin other side... GRRRRRRRRR...... ooooo I was bloody seething I tell thee. :-[ :-[ :-[

For the first time in 14 years of motoring, I witnessed peeps SLOWING DOWN, as the accident had just happened just so they cud get a better look at the F**KING accident on the other side of the M-way. It's not as if it's effected the flow of traffic on our side, people are just slowing down to view the tragedy...WTF?!?!?!?!

Listen peeps, if ur 1 of these mindless F**KING idiots who LOOK & slow down at the site of an RTA on the friggin otherside of the M-way,  YOU DO NOT DESERVE TO DRIVE ON  UK ROADS. M-way accidents is not a site-seeing play ground, have respect for your STUPID, MINDLESS actions and NOT slow down for your own, sick pleasure.

I sometimes slow down at accidents on the other side, simply because a few times I've had to high-speed-dodge debris thats flown from the other carriageway such as bumper parts and wheels. Once one car has slowed its a wave propogation effect, all cars will slow to some extent, especially if everyone is driving too close as they generally are on a motorway. This leads to start-stop type jams which are quite irritating, but I'd rather avoid a stray wheel and cause that than hit t he stray wheel and block the motorway. Mate of mine ripped most of the underside from his evo6 when he hit a shed wheel on the motorway - its not fun, for the sake of a little braking and caution.
It might make sense for them to put barriers down the central res that actually block vision between lanes, but then in a vehicle-cross-over accident people wouldnt have time to see/avoid the crossover vehicle.

u have to remember that 'rubber neckers' r only a small number of people that have no idea how to drive on a motorway.
i get slowed down by trucks that take 5 miles to pass, then realise they cant and pull back in more times than any1.
people that sit in the middle lane and wont move for any1.
people that drive at 45.
those frigging white vans that blast past u down a hill cuz they know they'll slow down going up the other side.
and so many other idiots.

god knows how many fools im gonna c on my drive to ipswich  ::)

Coyoteboy... there was plenty of space between cars, the sort of gaps you'd normally see just cruising home on the M-way, this is why I thought it was unusual to see red lights (this is on a long, slow left hander so I cant quite see ahead yet) when there wasn't the obvious 'bunching up', typical of people travelling too close, this wasn't the case.

Again though, Id slow a little to ensure no debris, its just safety really. Doesnt mean you have to shed 20 mph, just drag the brakes, stick to the limit or below and be prepared. If they were *just* looking then I vote to burn them alive, hard to find proof though :)
