My extended absence!!

A big hey up to all the EC members who know me and greetings to all those who have joined while I have been in the shadows.
As many will be aware I dropped out of site due to our lasses cancer and you'll all be pleased to know she is on the road to recovery and eager to come and do the four thing, she drove the faff for the first time a couple of weeks back and was immediatley addicted!! 

Just so you know I flipped my suzuki Hayabusa in a rather spectacular way on Wednesday evening - resulting in a shattered shoulder, (compound fracture of the radial head of the humorous!), 
Described by the A&E doc as "routine, see it all the time, you'll be ok in about 10 weeks!" 

Described by the surgical specialist today as "The absolute worst possible break" and is currently talking about the possibility of regaining 25% of use of my arm if all goes well!! 

If you want to imagine what it looks like hit a cadburys cream egg with a mallet then sort of push a few of the chunks deep into the goo and cast aside the others - now you get the idea 

And yes it is FU^"%&&£ing painful 

As you can imagine I'm not best pleased and am not expecting to get out much for a while.
Some good news tho - Max power have asked if I can get the rather fetching shade of greeny yellow that my skin has turned into paint form for their next cover car!!

glad to hear the better half is doing well, never nice to have to deal with something like that.
not so good for you though. sounds real nasty, and one of the main reasons i refuse to go into bike ownership. even the smallest of accidents can have some of the nastiest results.

wishing you the best possible recovery though, just think of all the Four driving your gonna miss out on - a bikes just not worth it!

Hi Calam, understand what your saying totally, but I've had much larger crashes in the past and come out with minor scraps, this was just one of those things where I landed wrongly etc and ended up with the break.  I've been riding since I was 16 and I'm not going on a very young 40  and this is the first break I've ever had so that says alot really, I guess this time I just wasnt as lucky.

Off for a ct scan today to see what op I've got to have so fingers crossed I'll be on the road to recovery sooner rather than later, I dont want Dee getting to comfortable sat in my faff's driving seat  I have to pry her out of it now, so god knows what she'll be like in a few weeks time when she's had more time to play.  I have a feeling once things have got better with me and my job has sorted things out to make things comfortable at home she'll be having a faff of her own

Will try to make one in for Squires, Dave. But can't promise as it's night before surgery we think. But if I can get up there you'll have to get the hot chocolates in as I won't be able to reach my wallet so I'll leave it at home lol

I feel for you Jools. Hope the op goes well, and if you are well enough to go to squires next week, I think I owe you and your good lady a chocolate..... and  I'll be in my 185 too (If work don't send me away anywhere)

Wow the mug of choco sounds good mate, and I've never been called his good lady before
