Man from the council
« on: April 21, 2008, 12:51:10 pm »
Doorbell rings and a man with a clipboard is waiting at the door.On asking him who he is I find he is from the local council all legit with I.D, and papers and he has come to measure our extension to check it is within planning regulations.

Only problem is that the extension on our house was built over 3 years ago !!! :o

His answer to this," We are not the quickest of councils sir" :

Unfrigging believable ;D

....You will all be glad to know that it was the correct size extention and I did`nt have to knock it down ;D

They have up to 7 years IIRC? Not worth NOT getting the planning permission if you ask me, certainly if its all above board?

Hehe, this reminds me of the 'Neighbours from Hell' thing the other night. A guy built a castle, yes a castle, on his farm and to hide the fact it had been built he surrounded it with huge piles of hay bales and tarpaulin. Four years later, he uncovered it, and because no-one had seen it to complain to the council, he was allowed to keep the hideous eyesore intact. Apparently it's in the council small print somewhere.

Not saying you're a neighbour from hell Doc, obviously ;)
