Celica Cabriolet prices
« on: March 10, 2008, 12:54:35 pm »
Hey guys, ive been looking for a summer car which will eventually become the gf's car when she has passed her test, so to stay with the "family" I thought a sixth gen celica cab would go down well and make a nice replacement for the four when its either:

• Out of fuel :D
• Getting work done to it.
• or justa different car to have a drive.

It also would be a better car to drive than her current one, a 1.2 MK1 Punto, which is fair to say....crap

However ive just looked at the prices of one and holy crap thay copst more than the flagship model, the gt4.

Why is this? i was expecting to pay roughly 2000 - 2500 for one and that, it looks like will get me a dog of a 18x shape one.

Noooooooooooooo. Noooooooooooo. Noooooooooooooo.
Don't do it. Where's your bollox? In your gf's purse thats where.
If you must undignify yourself with a 'girlie' car then why not consider the MR2 Turbo? At least that way you can kid yourself that you are still the man you once were. Convertables for for hairdressers and those who want that 'alternative' lifestyle.

I would be interested in the insurance quotes you get for a new driver on a gen 6 or MR2 tubby. You have to make sure that she drove you everywhere in it as you can't be seen to drive it, ever, as this will question the validity of the relationship with your GF. ;)

Wasn't there a guy in Greece did this? Awesome piece of kit after all his hard work, if you have the weather, tan and gender to make it work, lol

ha ha ha, guess thats me told then.

for some reason though i reckon a celica cab (6 gen) with some nice wheels on, lowered a bit would make an ideal car for the missus.

yea yea, ok i would drive it too sometimes, give the four a rest.

But again it doesnt really answer my qu: why are they so damn expensive? Especially with the weather being the way it is?
