Its almost 12 months since I bought my shed.
In that time its been sadly languishing in the back of various mechanics yards.
The first guy had it for nine months, took the head off and had it skimmed and a full head set fitted, then discovered that he didn't know how to put it back together properly. But apparently this was something I did not need to know. First I heard was one fine sunny (read rainy) afternoon my wife called to tell me my car had been towed into our back yard and the two men in it had run away!!!
Upshot was he didn't get any money.
The car lay at the back of my house for about 5 weeks, during which I managed to get myself banned from the GT4OC for asking (repeatedly) for my members pack. During this time while on another forum a fella called PaulGT4 tells me about GT4EC, so I join up with the intention of putting the wee car up for sale and forgetting about the worst Owners Club on the planet, and Mr Paul lands at my house and totally renews my faith in GT4-kind. He gets me a couple of phone numbers for 'specialists'.
Off to mechanic number 2.
The car sits there for a week before he gets to i then he works on the car for an hour and a half, and calls me up to take it away as the nice people at the planning department has just closed him down for operating from an agricultural shed!!!
Back to my house for a few days and onto mechanic number 3.
Now this man has absolutely no intention of doing anything on the car as as far as he concerned, there have already been too many people at it. Again it sits for a week. So yesterday I take the afternoon off work and go down there. We have a long 'discussion' followed ny many pints and he agrees to 'help' me fix it. I take today off work too (sometimes its good to be the boss) and violla, at 4.15pm this afterneen it drove up and down the road!!!
By 6 we had most things cured. The sunroof, radio and mirrors still don't work.
The management and ABS lights are on. It needs brake fluid changing (brakes are *BLEEP*e) but it does have 2pot calipers and drilled disks. The heater matrix needs cleaning.
BUT IT GOES LIKE HOT*BLEEP*E OFF A SHOVELL!!!!!!
So................. I finally got to do my happy dance.
Nest step is spacers for the back wheels and bodywork.
