Head Bolt Washers, help please
« on: March 06, 2010, 11:55:07 am »
Hi all

I've gone and managed to loose 3 of the washers for my head bolts, D'OH

Does anyone have any kicking around in their garage/shed I could buy/have??

I've lost 3 so 3 or more is what I need  ;)

Urgent, as I can't put the head back without them  ???

Thanks

Hi Paul, I have a whole bunch of them at home (I have 3 heads and two blocks, and replaced stock bolts with arp studs so have over 30 of them lol)
I could pop a few in an envelope and send it over to you, but you'd probably want them a bit faster than waiting for them to arrive from NZ, but the options there haha :)

All over mate, heading down to Christchurch first and then getting married up a mountain near Lake Wanaka, then probably heading off around the country for about 3 weeks in a camper  ;)

haha mint, you will enjoy it. Be sure to come up to the North Island, thats where all the good places are :) Im based in New Plymouth, which is in Taranaki in the north island. Well worth the drive anyway, the drive up the Taranaki coast has great views, ocean on one side and a big volcano and some mountain ranges on the other side :D

Hi mate, not getting many offers on the head bolt washers so if you don't mind could you send me a few over (Need 3 but a spare or 2 might come in handy?) I'll of course cover the cost of postage, just let me know what it costs to send them as quick as possible, it'll still be cheaper than buying them new from Toyota, and probably faster, they usually take at least 3 working days to order parts in  :(

Cheers mate

Hi,
I had to replace the headgasket on my car recently and noticed one of the washers was missing.  I ordered the gasket from TCB and after asking  they sent me a replacement used washer as they strip cars. So an option could be to ring Trevor at TCB and see if he will send you some. It maybe an idea to measure the diameter of one as it seemed he was unsure what size was required and sent me 2 different sizes.
Hope you havent dropped the washers into one of the passageway in the head or block.

Simon
