I'm a little annoyed it doesnt use a real-world physics engine - if I short shift on the first couple of gears I can get to max revs in 6th just as I hit the blocks, so technically going as fast as possible, but then it falls really really short of the target.

I tried that, however, it's linked to your angle of dangle as well, cos I overshot a couple of times :o I reckon you've got to get your change spot on, cos if you redline it you get nowhere, lol

Yeah, its a cunning combination of angle of dangle and spot on changes - you have to get it bang on the white line or you fall short, after that its all angle.
