Apparently there's some EU think tank nonsense going on to propose a paper to ban cars over ten years old.

Dunno how true this is - but might be worth signing the petition anyway.

I'm still trying to find info on what emissions are involved, exactly (quantities) in building a new car. I suspect one could run an old car for another 5-10 years on the extra emissions JUST from manufacture of a new car.

Bit like that global warming bollocks - the reason the world's getting hotter is cos the sun's a bit hotter at the mo.

When the Roman's were in occupation there were vine yards in Scotland!

They were forcasting an ice age in the late 70s!

It's all brought about so the *BLEEP*ing Americans can try and stay top dog!

I really can't see it happening but didn't something occur in the mid-late 80's in Ireland?

I heard that the government were offering 3-5k off a new car to get people to buy them and then scrapping all the older ones??? Hence the now big demand for Mk1/2 Escorts etc etc over there?

It's what a guy told me down the pub once so it's probably cod sht but hey...it adds to the debate ;) ::) ;) ;D

73's are fab - but far too much to go wrong for me.

Mine's old enough to be cool - but new enough to be reliable.

in fairness my ST205 was really cool - however, 350cu V8 blows it away in the coolness stakes - speacially as all the anti smog thing's have been removed and she has an un silenced straight through exhaust.

Wheel spins @ 90!

Bring it on!

(providing there are no corners or course!)
