Title: New Job / Career
Post by: Driveby on January 21, 2011, 09:17:34 pm
New Year, new start!
Hanging up my spanners and *cough* friendly MOT tester *cough* hat and have a new job as a Technical Consultant for General Motors Europe.  Shorter hours, more pay, warm office, 5 day week, can hardly belive it to be honest, but hey  8)

On the down side, had our annual hearing test this week and I now only have 10% hearing in my left lug :( Told the nurse that the equipment must be faulty and made her re-do the test 3 times, 10% was my best result,  so its off to the doc's to find out whats wrong.  I guess 25 years in a noisey environment messes up your hearing not to mention your elbows  :-X

Cheers for that mate, Ive got an appointment at the doc's next week to start the investigation process. TBH I dont feel deaf if that sounds right?  I know I cant have a conversation in a noisey pub as I cant make words out if theres a lot of background noise but am fine in quieter surroundings.  I got a good earful of petrol about 10 years ago which landed me in casualty and am wondering if its as a result of this?  Last years results were 80% in both ears so it has been a dramatic decline in auditory performance in my n/s spark plug.
