picked wheels for th 185 but they dont come with the right pcd for our cars so will need adaptors, what do you guys/girls think of them? do they put to much load on wheel bearings? what are te best ones to go for? i could possibly get them made up at work though

Do they put more load on the bearings - yep. Much more? Probably 25-50%. Can you accept that sort of decrease in lifespan - probably.
Watch out of handling changes though - 8mm (IIRC) spacers on the front of mine made tramlining much worse and seemed to make understeer worse too (though I think it should improve it theoretically). I have 1" spacers on the rear and that increases understeer too so I'm not sure how that fits with vehicle dynamics but it seems to be the case.
