I was just curious as to how many people here get small silly problems on their car that initially seem to be rather serious problems, and sometime take for ages to find. Today I was out for a blat and the car started to idle at 3500 RPM!
I had a look round the engine bay in the dark, checked all main induction piping, checked all electrical connectors and fault codes etc. Then I noticed an unused bolt in the side of the throttle body that I had forgotten to remove had started to work its way out, and was stopping the throttle from fully closing!
So what I initially thought a very bad problem turned out to be nothing, and left me very relieved lol.
How many other people find stupid annoying stuff like this happen? Or is it just part of the fun of owning a 'four? :D 8)

I did a full rebuild on a classic mini many moons back.. and got the ht leads the wrong way round.. befor you start laffin.. it wasn't all my fault. I got the leads from halfords and the leads were not made in size order nore numbered 1-4 correctly. The leads went 1,3,2,4 instead of 1,2,3,4 couldn't see past my ego for days..then i realised. :-[ :-[ :-[

2 years back I thought the creaking from the front suspension was going to cost me dear. As a quick-fix I sprayed the joints with grease and covered with generous quantities of... more grease. 2 years on and 3 track-days later it's still all quiet at the front. Which is nice.
