This seems like a bargain. A speed camera detector with lifetime updates for £39. Very small and descret. It also uses the Pocketgpsworld database which is what i use on the TomTom on my mobile phone. It seems accurate from my experience.

Call me a cynic, and no disrespect, but isn't this just showing you that you should be obeying the law and driving according to the prevailing conditions?

It would be useful for those times when you accidentally exceeded the speed limit and were approaching a speed camera. Possibly doesnt apply to members here though.

You're right tho, the odd occasion when you miss the posted limit can see you keeping the points off your licence :)

But there are roads where the indicated speed limit is way below what I consider to be the driving conditions. There are also many instances where speed cameras are located on perfectly safe overtaking zones, where momentarily exceeding the limit is, in my opinion, the safest way to pass. I suspect many people on here occasionally push the margins, and some form of defence against the "dumb copper" gatsos can only be a good thing. My 2p.

this only looks like it does what every good satnav does anyway. It only picks up the fixed cameras and 'accident blackspots' which might have a gatso gun at. It doesnt actually detect the gatso guns does it?
The lifetime up date probably just updates the blackspot list 00)

Very true, I personally believe that limits should be raised in certain areas. I also agree on the overtaking principle, tho the majority of people don't necessarily recognise the safe time for overtaking as they drive too close to the vehicle in front(within the limit), lol.
Sadly, a GATSO won't stop someone driving at the limit when it's lashing down or snowing even.
Maybe a radical rethink of a 'no limit' system? hehehe, if you are involved in an incident you automatically lose your licence unless you can prove your actions did not contribute?

Not a bad idea on the face of it... but the govt. would probably want cameras in every car to enforce it! Sadly, there are always the fools who ruin it for everyone when the politicians overreact, and the recent idea of 40 zones in the countryside round here is evidence of that. Then there's the no ins/tax/licence crew who worry about none of this. Grrrrr.
