Title: religated
Post by: RobbieMcVee on January 19, 2009, 09:59:31 am
now i'm sure you all know that i was a member of staff on here and built up the site to what it is today and spent more time developing this that i care to remember???

It now looks like i have my membership withdrawn.. now this was given to me as i have put alot of hours and stress into the site, i loaned the club money for the site and organised everything to do with it..

To say im a little *BLEEP*ed to be treated like this is an understatement....! ahhhh

this must be somekind of mistake  :o
i thought that you had lifetime membership as you where one
of the founding members
maybe the powers that be can answer this as it would be a shame
if you left

So the self appointed non-elected forum nazis have made a uni-lateral decision to cut you off? I was given no vote on this, and I certainly wouldn't have voted for it anyways.
Tough break, I'll support you in whatever you decide.

shouldnt this be in a pm to a member of staff? or we getting a voting poll on here?
I dont mind free memebrship being offered to people who have put their neck on the line.
but i dont want to see the bitching sessions we had on the oc, as it causes nothing but problems.

Just my 2p

ps.hope you stick around rob ;)

i dont think this should be in PM mate - as i didnt have a clue that it was going to be done...

If the staff who did it had let me know - then all could have been kept private but as they didnt im *BLEEP*ing *BLEEP*ed off

Wouldn't something like this have to be decided on in a staff meeting? And wouldn't there be minutes of this staff meeting? So whoever proposed this move and whoever seconded it would have there names in the minutes. Perhaps they could explain their actions for us?

Im not here to debate the so-called petty politics, however, im less than happy to be called a nazi.  the reason being my other half is jewish by birth and that remark is distasteful and highly insulting to me.  i see no need for that type of remark to be used in a forum given you have no idea what everyones religion is who comes on here, and no idea how many people you will offend, in my opinion that kind of bleep belongs either in a pm or somewhere else entirely.

Thats the funniest thing I've read in a while. Wind your neck in. If you have a problem PM me or delete it. After all you have the power.

I don't want to know about or get involved in so called "politics" i think its a shame that Robbie someone who has had such a big part to play in what is a great club should have his membership revoked.

I hope you manage 2 get an answer mate.

I'm confused too! Robbie ... you have my support!
There was a recent post about staff election but it was moved and is now 'not available???'
I'm going hunting for staff members :)

To clear this up..

Firstly.. all Staff members are, and always have been, paid up members - we agreed that at the start.

Secondly.. some paid up Staff members are still owed money from the club from the initial set up fee

and finally

I changed Robbie's Club member status when I was going through the paperwork yesterday and realised that a). he hadn't paid and b). was no longer staff...

Sorry if this offended anyone

Cee

Uuuum?? I thought Robbie was part of the 'set up ' team and would have had membership confered on him.
Never mind....nowt to do with me........ it is all up to the 'board'

No one has membership 'conferred' upon them.. that's the other club.. here all staff are paying members..  :)

Several members of the set up team are paying members despite not being staff anymore, this "lifetime free membership" never existed, and this wasnt what he was complaining about. He was complaining about being removed from the members list, which naturally occurs when your membership expires.

i never asked for lifetime membership as this would have been impossible. However i do expect to be treated like a friend of the club rather than the way i have been.

Its a sad state when it gets like this and i am very disappointed.

Is an automated reminder for renewal a possibility going forward?

It's on my wish list Rob.. just now I have to email by hand  :(

Robbie - no-one questioned whether you were a "friend of the club" or not, surely you were aware your membership had expired so you knew it was a matter of time? This really shouldn't be such an emotive issue - i'm really not sure why you're taking it so personally. If you have a problem with something surely just email/PM (in case its a mistake etc) instead of "bleeping" all over the forum - I dunno, all mountains and molehills to me, cheer up chappy, no-one intended to cause offence I'm sure.

This will be my last post on this subject - and probably the last on this club.

When something expires you expect to get notice of it.. yes?
Title: Re: religated
Post by: Coyoteboy on January 20, 2009, 01:41:33 pm
No?

I don't get notice of my MOT expiring. I've missed it twice now! Nor do I get notice of my kitesurfing club membership expiring, my insurance with that has lapsed already - mental note, must sign up again. In fact the only thing that ever warns me it is expiring is my car insurance and tax, and I'm fairly sure they legally have to!

Sorry to see you so miffed.
