Title: What am I doing wrong.
Post by: bazza2541 on November 12, 2008, 09:02:27 pm
My ST165 restoration is on hold pending a set of decent wheels.
I need something to fill the arches and beyond, and they need to be 'period'.
So onto the bay of e I venture to hunt down something suitably 'old' looking.
First of were these beauties.

Complete set of 4 Azev A Alloy Wheels in 17" x 7.5" ET20 with 215/40 R17 Tyres

I lost out due to a marraige breakup, (sometimes mates are a lot of hassle)

Next were these even more delectable beauties.

Compomotive th Mono's 16x8 Et 25 5X100 (Euro look)
Sorry, you were outbid at the last minute. This item sold for £370.00.

And now these have come up.

In all these auctions I have been the highest bidder right up until the last few minutes! Please if there are any ebay experts out there, I need some help.

Sign up with auctionsniper.com mate, just enter your max bid and it will bid for you automatically in the last 3 seconds, saved thousands over the years.
Pro bidders wont bid on an auction till the last few seconds otherwise your just pushing the final price up ;)

Cheers for that.
Tell me, what is the best time delay? default is 7 seconds.

As said, wait until at most 20 seconds from end and then put in your highest bid. The 20 sec rule works for me as this takes into account my pc/connection speed; often end up with bid being 'registered' by ebay about the 5 sec mark.

If someone beats me from 5 secs, then well played lol

However, if I REALLY want something I bid high and early, stop the seller ending early when it looks like the item will receive no bids. Might cost more, but you get what you want

when i first started using ebay i used to get sooo *BLEEP*ed off being outtttttttt bid at the last moment, until i discovered sniping - and that really got me mad that people can use a application to bid. But then i started using it myself - if you can beat them - join em...

lots of sniping tools out there - have a look on the torrent sites for some free stuff..!

Careful what software/sites you use for sniping - I know of at least one person who downloaded sniping software and amazingly a short time later had his ebay account hacked and loads ordered on his account. Any time you enter your details into a sniping program/site it could well be logging it and sending it to any number of scam artists. Some are not scammers, obviously, though.
