Title: Gauging interest in a 205 lamp pod group buy
Post by: Redbeast on July 15, 2008, 12:59:15 pm
I dont want to put this in a group buy just yet because its just gauging interest so far, rather than actually organising one.

But i have a contact who has a proper TTE 3-piece faff lamp pod in carbon (4 on bonnet and two bumper pods)  It is verrrry expensive, but if there was enough interest for copies to be made up it could be worthwhile averaging the price out so it's good for us all.

I havent looked in to a price yet, but i would SUGGEST that a figure of £350 without the lamps wouldnt be a million miles away.  Pricey still, but they DO look amazing!  I reckon if i could get 5 it could be a do-er.

So is anyone seriously interested enough to make it worth my while actually pursuing costs etc?

obviously price depending...  but if there is SOME interest then I'll start spending time looking in to it properly.  so that's 2 of us...

He has them the wrong way around in the picture there, left and right pods should be swapped

*bump*

got a rough price.  guy reckons he can knock up a mould for under 600 (the expensive bit), do copies at 200, and everyone chips in for the original, we can get copies for £350 each.  obviously thats without lamps, fitting or painting which you will have to sort yourself.

To qualify for that price we would need 11 people.  at £375 we would need 9, so that's the basis i am working on.

this rough idea is a maximum - might go down once he sees them, but wont go up.
