UPto £245 MORE on your road tax, is this government off it's fricking rocker?? I know that it wont be that on our cars, but you can bet your ass we'll still kop for a good lump as well. Makes me scream - if it wasn't for our little girl I would have packed my bags long ago!!!
It is high time they realised that all the good intentions in saving the planet through taxing us to death will do nothing but make the poor poorer. If you can afford to buy and run a brand new range rover you won't give a sh*t about the rise, but if you live in the sticks or need to travel off the public transport routes to get to work you just have another great hunk of cash to find from your already pitiful wages!! >:( >:( >:(

Rant away jools I'm pretty sure everyone on here will feel exactly the same. there must come a point where the common motorist cant be taxed anymore we're having to pay through the nose for everything just now!!!

know how your feeling jools, i have got itchy feet recently and i'm thinking about new zealand, this country has gone beyond the joke and i'm fed up with it, its just a pain that this is never ending story

If I didnt have my ex husband stopping me, we'd be moved abroad by now I think. We did talk about it quite alot when I was ill, and I know Jools would love to go back to Germany as he's lived there before, but until my little Katie is old enough to be allowed to choose where she wants to live we cant go anywhere sadly. It will certainly be something we'll be doing in the next 12/13 years though.

yeah glad i don't have those ties, i just need to get the finger oiut and enquire about it alittle more and get the funds together and find out a price to get a container to send the faff in :)

You are kidding right? :) The standard response is "the government has considered all views on this matter and believes its policy is correct, however we are always reconsidering our viewpoint", re-phrased in the best way that seems different each time (I know, I've signed countless ones!)

this country IS heading down the pan, its a joke, and not just fuel and taxes, the state of the "YOUT" today, dont get me wrong, i am only 32, but quite frankly the next generation scare the crap out of me, they have no respect, no morals no standards and no fear. all this malarky about carrying knives etc, sheesh, i grew up in the est end of london, if you had a fight, you used your fists, when you won, that was it, it didnt start a gang revenge turf war, makes me sick, and the typical answer is "everybody else does it, so i have got to....."

To start with i am only 21, and I agree with everything that has been said. The state this country is falling into is beyond repair. I genuinely believe that England will hit rock bottom before anyone even begins to rebuild it and bring things back up again.

I agree with this 100%, the amount of people who carry knives etc now a days is ridiculous! Last thursday 5 people stabbed to death and 1 critically ill in hospital. I mean come on! Kids dont care about anything thats the problem, also its the fact that no one can discipline them anymore because a parent/teacher or anyone else for that matter cant even grab them by the arm let alone discipline them without the kid being able to ring f'ing childline or what ever and reporting it as abuse! How does anyone expect kids to grow up knowing how to behave in any form when they cant physically be taught when there young??.. No hope!..
Also, another thing which really bugs me regarding all this, the people trying to resolve all this are a group of middle aged folk sat in an office... They have no idea what goes on in the country (not with regards to this whole situation anyway), how are they meant to resolve anything?? (i dont know if anyone saw the documentarys on the whole situation on channel 4 a couple of weeks back?!)
Sorry, thats my rant over to (could go on for ages!) just hate seeing the country im living in falling apart, especially when we used to be as good as we were. And I am also on the verge of leaving!.. (with my crate in a container to! ;) )
