Title: My Remission Present
Post by: Dee on May 22, 2008, 07:48:45 pm
Well after my news my ever loving Jools surprised me with my dream present.  I've wanted one since I was 6 years old but never been able to afford one, but Jools as ever found a way.
His storey was that he wanted me to drive him to a house in Catterick Garrison (about 80 miles away from us) so I could meet a friend of his, me being more than happy to help as he cant drive at the moment drove him over there on Sunday night.  We pulled up at the door and he went and knocked and as they opened the door a fat little stumpy Basset Hound came running out!  I was about to tell him off for not telling me he had a mate who owned a Basset when he broke it to me that we were actually there to meet Georgie the Basset Hound and she was coming home with us  :o :o :o :D :D :D

The best remission present I could of ever dreamed of.  I'm such a proud mummy I just had to share her with you.

Meet Georgie!

when I was single I used to have a mexican flame leg turantula and a south american pink toe tarantula. did have a spiderling bird eater too but it didn't make it to sub adult...needless to say i'm not allowed any more of them either  :(

Spiders are cool aswell   :)  the flame leg was an agressive bugger the the pink toe would let you stroke it  ;)

tbh i don't like the little feckers you find round the house but the big ones are awesome! Not the experience you would would expect really.

My mum is stupidly scared of spiders but she used to watch mine intensively even to the point of breaking out the camcorder to document it shedding it's skin!

I used to be able to sit and watch the flame leg hunt round the tank trying to find a way out, very methodical creatures really..but it never did escape  ;)

Wouldlnt even get me in the same room as a spider but snakes, ah dont bother me at all, had over 40 snakes at one time, including a 8 & 10ft boas, 14ft albino burmese and loads of other breeds, also had nile monitor, iggy's, beardies, chameleons & bosc monitors.  Just sold all our vivs etc and given up the hobby now as wasnt enough hours in the day for them all.  I'm more than happy now with my 2 doggies, unless someone offers me another basset and of course I just couldnt say no  ::) ;D

Yer i love my reptiles-only got the two snakes at moment but did have large collection before-african rock python, burmese, reticulated, jungle carpet python, green anaconda, brazilian rainbow boa, corns, red tail boas, king snakes, hognose, green iguana, bosc and nile monitor.
had a big room fullof vivs but my ex made me choose them or her-she thought id choose them so i gave em all to a dealer only for her to tell me she was cheating on me the whore.
and i couldnt get my animals back :(

Thinking of a false water cobra next.
the wife wants a bulldog but they are mega expensive.

really thinking of getting a snake, always had a thing for them, and i used to go to the zoo in louisiana when i lived there just to handle them, even held a massive anaconda whilst at new orleans zoo, well there was about 5 of us holding it but an amazing experience, had to get the woman gold fish there a few months ago and whilst in pets at home i've taken a notion for fire newts as well, they're pretty cool things
