I've recently bought and insured a nice slow, boring diesel estate with Sky, but since I'll be using it to carry stuff about I thought I'd look into tinting the rear end (back doors and boot area only) so as to make its contents less visible when they are present. Now I'm not stupid, I dont leave thousands worth of kit in there in the centre of a city, but I wanted to stop the opportunist thief from spotting that I had anything in there without having to go to some effort. I'm aware that a determined/organised thief will always get past such measures but I think it stops the "oh look, a bike, I'll have that" mentality.
ANNYway - whats the general insurance increase on tinting? Seems slightly frustrating to be trying to increase security, yet get a premium hike.

Best just to ask, tho I'd be surprised if they increased the premium as it's not a performance enhancement or an increase in value as such. You may have to pay a one-off fee for amendment to your policy.
Cheers
