It'd take about a week to list all the things wrong with it, but the single biggest problem is the roof.

So you dont like convertable cars then?
Apart from being a convertable, whats wrong with it?
I think it looks ok TBH

No four wheel drive.
No forced induction.
No structual integredy.
Marketed to a very "confused" segment.
THAT *BLEEP*ING ROOF.

Er, its not a GT4 so it wont have a turbo or 4 wheel drive.

Why wont it have structural integrity?

Cos they cut the roof off. On a monocoque its a stressed component. And all Celicas should be GT4's, which was kinda my point.

At the end of the day its a convertable celica and looks ok for what it is.
Your opinion is very OTT since the car is not a GT4, and never was a GT4, so surely cant be compared with a GT4.
Toyota made plenty of Convertables over the years, and lots of companys convert normal cars into convertables. Both will add sufficient strengthening to chassis to compensate for the loss of the integrity the roof provides.

Not sure what your problem is Baz?? It a reasonable looking celica soft top and certainly dosent warrant your OTT description.

Nuff said. Over and out.

but, if u can ignore the red interior and lack of roof.... i  love the bumper and grill, especially the lights.

Its definately different, I'll give you that.
As for me, The ST165 is an icon, and as with most of my icons, less is very definately more. So I'm with sticking to the original as much as possible.

Quick question, were these parts (bumper/lights and grill) ever made available for sale?
