This was in for sale only a few weeks ago in Midland car sales (or something like that) for 8k - makes me wonder why its being sold so quick?
I was going to have a look at it when it was up - anyone got any clues?
-
Engine bay different colour to the body?!?!?
-
its different though and pics do hide alot of things about cars and tend to make them look better than they actually are
-
if it's an import they don't tend to paint the engine bay the same colour as the car do they? mine isn't - it's like a primer weird beige colour lol
-
My import was all one colour when I got it (certain mods have meant that there are subtle differences now), including the bay.
-
my womans puma is set in primer the early puma's all came like this, and i do know of a few mates imports are the same as well
-
Ford dont like painting engine bays, lots of manufacturers dont paint door bottoms these days either.
-
suppose every little saved could be a fortune in the long run, it was just the early pumas were left in primer the latter ones were all painted
-
All GT4s came with painted bays? Suspect it was stripped and resprayed when the extensive kit work was done. Looks fugly if you ask me. I hate people trying to turn these into street racer cars, thats not what they are, they dont look good like that and it spoils them. IMO.

The engine bay on my silver import is beige as well!!

Painted engine bays are a trend pulled from rallying. We always paint the engine bay in a light colour, helps to identify nasty things like oil leaks.
-
toyota engine bays are always painted in the coloured base coat of the overall colour (that'd be a dull but identical colour to the body). tis an easy way to spot body repairs as bodyshops always top coat the repair work whereas toyota didn't as stock ;)
if it's any other colour i'd say it's deffo had a full body respray
