Title: :( Damn rust
Post by: Coyoteboy on March 04, 2008, 11:17:23 am
Sills have now caught the dreaded orange cancer that is rust. 2x1" hole has developed while its been sat up for 6 months. Totota sills expensive? Patch it? Bin the whole car and buy a mondeo TD estate?

1. Patch it?
2. Bin the whole car and buy a mondeo TD estate?

I think you have to go for 1. as the 2. option will prove a little disappointing in the long run, imho ;)

Getting a bit depressed with it really, not even had a play with it properly in 6 months and 6 months prior to that it was down on power and out with a clutch shattered. Im just hoping patching it doesnt look a mess.

I'm sure a man of your quality will make a fine job of the repair. If it's any consolation, I've not had mine running how I want it for ages and need to throw money at it to get it sorted, money I don't have at the mo' so gonna have to bite my lip as they say :(

i replaced my passenger sill, on the CS before i went to Germany i think it was 86+vat and the sill on the 18* comes in two pieces so go to toyota and look at what part you need....... i'm not a fan of patching up as i'd rather use genuine parts and that way it won't leave unsightly welding marks
