Good for you mate! Sounds interesting, let us know how things progress ;)
Cheers

Good luck for the future 8)

Peter, Robbie, I think it's going to be one of those years for quite a few people. I'm looking at a few options at the moment, one expanding on what I do now, another a business purchase, and lastly a complete change of environment. All good fun ;)
Cheers

your nuts man, hold out a few months and get the redundancy there, it'll be worth your while in the long run, my mate is doing the same holding out for th big cheque

Thats ok if you qualify for a nice redundancy package (which isn't nearly as good as the press reported it by the way). First 2 years I was here as a contractor and that doesn't count apparently. If I stay I get about £3k and then have to start looking for a new job along with 900 other people. And who knows how long it'll take to find another decent job. £3k won't last long. Better to jump now to something with some security I think.

yeah simon works up there and he has 10yrs service and the last few are qualifiable even though his position has been contracted out in waste water
-
Nice one Mark! Giv us a shout when you have your leaving doo and maybe we could have that long awaited EC night out in town eh!
Anyway, I thought you were going to be Westwood's best man on Pimp My Ride UK! :D :D :D
-
Balls! I have just realised, who will MOT my old scrapper (and before you say it I mean the Volvo not the 185 ;))
DOH!
-
Leaving doo will be saturday 2nd february if you fancy it? yep no more MOT's for me, after 8 years as a QC thats one bit of stress I wont miss!!
-
One for the diary Mark, cheers ;)
Just found out this morning that the business I was gonna buy has been sold to someone else, lol. Seems like she found a buyer who was willing to pay based on some 'creative' accounting, making it look about 3 times what it's actually worth, d'oh!
-
Nice one mate, know you were saying you were thinking about it :)
Where are you gonna work on the faff now?! :o
I'm still looking for a new job, but with onemajor hitch...I dont know what I want to do, haha!

You lot are just starting out!
Me, with 33&1/3 years in, am about to get dumped by the 'New Northumberland' and they are NOT offering the same redundancy as my exising employer????.
-
New place is far better equiped than the main dealer Im at now Rob 8)
-
im toying with offshore, the 50k a year looks pretty damn good. might clear some of my debts.
-
I have 2 uncles who work offshore, money is fab, it's just the rota/hours that are a pita, 6 weeks on 6 weeks off etc
If you can put up with that then go for it ;)
