other than the jane mansfield expedition... what's the worst job you've ever had?
I'l tell you all mine at the end of this thread :o :D

I used to serve cooked chickens to old people in a smelly market ;D
I only took this job to tide me over between leaving the army and starting my apprenticeship. Lasted about 10 days ;D ;D ;D
But that's it. I've enjoyed all my other 3 jobs LOL

Once, when I was a barman, I had to break into a house in Loughrea Co Galway, as the homeowner, a regular in my place of work, had barrickaded himself and his kids inside and was threatening to kill everyone while in the horrors of drink. His hysterical wife caught me on the way to work and made me promise to intervene. When I got done, I just told my boss I was finished, packed my stuff up and left that town forever.

And then in 1989, I was working at the demolition of Belfast gasworks when a dragline fell over and crushed a workmate.
That was the end of that particular careerpath too.

Spent Christmas day sat in Santa`s grotto gurading it from vandals.I spent the day sitting in Santa`s chair with a giant size robotic polar bear on my left and yellow seal on my right and as an added bonus I had Cliff Richard piped music coming from 4 penguins !!!!! :o
Oh and I a large deaf German Shepherd dog who farted all day as company :(
Can`t think why I left that job ;D

working for seagate in the cleanroom environment doing a monotonous job, worst move i ever made

I worked in a pub one summer and following a day off, I came in to work to discover the pool table in pieces and pools of blood everywhere, and the boss saying 'here's a cloth, on you go'..........so I went

Fatty Arbuckles. 2.95 an hour, every friday, sat, sun. Being yelled at for being 20 seconds behind the target time per customer, having to smile at everyone and offer relish. Lasted 3 weeks, i'd rather bake my own head than do that sort of work again. Actually preferred litter picking in the local country park, it paid more too.

When I used to work in a venue (lights and sound being the main responsibilty) it was decided that we would make good toilet unblockers - lovely job in the middle of a busy club night and boy did you see some sights :-\ :'(
Though walking through with a dripping plunger and arm length rubber gloves usually meant everyone moved out of your way!!!

Yeah, used to do that on a camp site "for fun" at weekends lol.

used to work for a "well k nown" NE butcher/baker in their "facility" over the border in Boro. ovely place. the stench of the river only drowned out by the stench of dead flesh.
it was my job to work on the pie-making machine. 1st guy would put the pastry cases into the thing and they would be stamped into shape. I woudl put the little balls of meat into the cases. The next guy would put a lid on, the machine would stamp the nice lid edge into the thing and then the last guy would take the cases and put them into the rack for mass-cooking.
we'd do 9 hour shifts for £2.56 an hour. make 10,000 pork pies a day.
what did I learn?
1: that M&S pork pies at £1.99 for 6 are EXACTLY the same as the "NO Frills" brand for 75p for 6.
2: that TFM only have 4 songs
3: that working in a controlled 3 degrees environment while sweating away at this effing machine makes you work REALLY hard to get a good degree
4: that a large blue bottle looks and tastes exactly the same in a pie as the pork does.
5: my patience and tolerance is that of a saint, cos i lasted 4 weeks!

I'm sure one of my previous 'careers' has been featured in FHM as 'The Worst Job In The World'.
I spent 2 full summers when I was at uni.........making birds pregnant.
Artificially inseminating turkeys to be precise. Managed about 50k (inseminations that is....) every summer!
Just one last thought for you all...................before you artificially inseminate a female turkey, you must first milk a male.........(and believe me there is no fancy technical way of doing that...........simply involves a test-tube, 2 pipes, squeezing and sucking............)
You lot only think you've had bad jobs...........
PS work at seagate now and its a very close second.
