We're going across to Llanfynydd for a weeks break and im just planning the route.
Going across country from Cambridge - should i
A. Go M6 M5 M50 A40 across the Brecon Beacons
B. Go M6 M5 M4
We're in no hurry but i dont really want to get stuck on a crappy road for too long...
Cheers all

Hi Robbie, been a long time since I was down that way, but the road through the the beacons is awesome for scenery, I was down there for some training in my army days a couple of times and loved the area - great hang gliding :D Nice place to stop for a spot of lunch is Crickhowell, there was a really good pub right on the river next to a little stone road bridge, can't vouch for what it's like now though.

If you have`nt gone already and are taking the 4,go across the Brecon Beacons 8)Don`t blame me if you crash as the roads across the Brecon Beacons have a habit of making you put your foot down :D

I seem to recall the M50 being crap though :( Still, the trip across the Beacons would be a whole lot of fun :D

Your right about the M50 :(

well i did it - went down the m5 50 then accross the Brecon Beacons - shame we were all in the misses car and not my 4.. some fantastic roads there !!!
Thanks for the advice chaps!
