Final straw at work today...not only did they not give me the pay rise I was promised 7 months ago, they announced today that i was being transfered to *BLEEP*in Wales (no offence anyone from Wales) my new job will be is Trawsfynedd where ever the hell that is......not only that, but I have to start TOMORROW :-\ >:( . so F##k it...anybody with any "planning" connections who knows or any planning type jobs going in the north east / north midlands please let me know as I want to hand my notice in ASAP. I have no idea if i`ll have any internet connections / use so I might not be on here for a while...i also dont know if they will honour my holiday to germany so I might miss that...I stand to miss the Bubble meet, will definately miss Japfest and most probably JAE aswell....so *BLEEP*ed off its untrue.
If anybody gets offered a job with Doosan Babcocks for gods sake dont take it, they are the worst company in the world to work for.
Right i`m off to go and pack and find out where the hell Trawsfynedd is.

Sorry to hear this Nial >:( >:(
Traws whatever= North wales/ Snowdonia Nice part of the world, not a million miles away from Bala, great white water rafting, and I think a ski slope is up there too :) Oh and a Nuclear powerstation and a fecking big lake, where they made the film Camelot ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
Trawsfynedd = Big abandoned nuke plant in Mid-ish Wales!!!!
There are some fantastic driving roads around there.
-
Surely there must be some contractual discrepencies here regarding the amount of notice you've been given. I reckon a call to the CAB might be in order mate.
-
Bloody hell Nial :(
I hope you get out of there soon...I know it's been *BLEEP*ing you off for a while but to tell you your off to live with the sheep TOMORROW is taking the *BLEEP* :(
You've got my number if you ever want to chat.

Nial
I'm getting somewhere in the region of 5-8 calls a week about planning jobs after putting my CV on Monster.co.uk. If you want direct contacts, I can get a list of agents to you who will have you in a new job quicker than you can blink. Planners are in short supply and big demand, you definately have the upper hand in this situation.
Try http://www.first-careers.co.uk/ (http://www.first-careers.co.uk/) these are my agents. They've got planning jobs all round the country and I reckon they would be able to sort you out pretty quickly!

Nial
had a phone call a little earlier to see if i'm looking for work. It's a planning job back in the nuclear industry (where i used to work) and in the north. Do you want me to pass on your e-mail or you can send me your phone no. if you want?

Cheers folks...cant describe how *BLEEP*ed off I am at the moment....hopefully i`ll land a new job ASAP.
Chris...you have a PM matey...have sent my CV to the agency you posted up aswell...fingers crossed.

Tis just sounds completely out of order to me. I don't see how such short notice can even be legal unles you have a very strange contract of employment. When you do find another job, I believe you would be well within your rights to claim costructive dismissal and get some compensation for this.
Have a browse round this site ...

Good luck with the job hunt.

*BLEEP* me Nial. they sound like right tossers mate.
Whats gonna happen with your mota bud??
-
I`ll be back this weekend to pick it up...I`ll give you a bell norman, cause I`d like to check it over still if your still free.
-
Lots of sheep and rallying in that part of the world :-\
-
It never ceases to amaze me how arrogant some employers can be. Do they assume we will all just bend over and lube up??? The sooner you get yourself out, the better, from reading this mate. Any good solicitor would have a field day with them.
Cheers

Seriously Nial, i'd think long and hard about suing the fukkers for this, it's well out of order.
I checked my contract yesterday for work, because I am expected to work away a fair bit, and even with prior notice, I have to have a minimum of 2 weeks to prepare for working away, unless it's an emergency situation, and then I have to agree to go away.
