Which Tyres
« on: June 07, 2007, 09:14:38 am »
After having a blow out on one of my rear tyres last night (luckily at a low speed) its time for a set of new boots. Im relatively new to the 4, so any recommendations welcome. I want a good tyre with decent durability as this is my daily driver and I cant afford new tyres every 4k miles. What tyres do you guys use?

I currently have Bridgestone RE050s on mine and previously, Yoyo A539s, both of which have served me well, though I prefer the grip level of the Bridgestone in the wet. A number of members have used Toyo Proxys so I think you'll be in for quite a few replies ;)

I used this site to make my decision:

For your choice of tyre you can click on www.tyretest.com for more info

Most of my journey to work is spent in traffic, but I do like to go out in the evening and enjoy the car.

well if u like to push it from time to time, but need a long lasting tyre, Eagle F1's seem to last ages.

I'm on TOYO Proxes T1R's great tyre but not a lasting tyre if your fond of the right foot, but mines seem to be wearing well, before that on the Corolla i had Pirelli P ZERO's expensive tyre, but if your not fussed on a great performance tyre i had the Avon ZZ3 on before the Pirelli and i thought they were a good mid range tyre
