Anyone into cycling? (North East area) Tour of Britain.
« on: May 26, 2008, 07:49:34 am »
They are coming our way on Fri 12th September.
I have the route map and after leaving Darlington they head north crossing the tyne near Prudhoe they swing East past Morpeth, come back through Bedlington, past the 3 shoes, down to South Beach and all the way along the front (past the Queens) to Tynemouth then up by the river to TooN.
They only take 15 mins to pass by so road closures will not be a major problem (they say!)
If anyone interested in watching them I could put approximate times up, after I go back to work? :(
Previously a UK WRC ST205 & a CS (UK !*%)
Now.... a 1970 Triumph 13/60 convertible, a Hyindai Amica and a Honda CR-Z Hybrid :)

Post up the route Jeff and I'll get my piano wire ready.  :o

I don't mind this so much, but the lycra Larrys who like to get out and cause bloo*y havoc round here each weekend get right on my pecs.

Either its a group five abreast on the back roads or a bunch strung out along the dual carrigeway leaving every one to swerve around them. Is it just me that thinks they shouldn't be allowed to have races on the public highway - just like everyone else.  >:( >:(
They love to tell us how vulnerable cyclists are, but they are ok to race along main roads and then cut across the traffic to turn round at the roundabouts.  :-\
As cyclists pay no tax, insurance or fuel duty then they should have plenty of spare cash to rent a curcuit for the day when they want to see who has the tightest shorts on.  ???

Next time you see one - slow down, pull carefully along side, then get your passenger to empty a "super soaker" filled with moose p*ss all over the inconsiderate prat!  ;D ;D ;)

yeah they cycle so many a breast to slow motorist down, my woman done that when she was out on country lanes on her horse, but thats different i think (1. its a country lane and 2. horses don't like fast movements or loud exhausts lol)
