« on: December 16, 2007, 05:41:35 pm »
a freind came to see me as his faff wasn't running right. it wouldn't rev past 2800 and the pace was slow up to those dizzy heights.

this is what we found

where is the filter?

there it is stuck in the turbo

half eaten by the turbo

now the filter is replaced the car is running fine again

Lucky indeed, must have got caught in one almighty whoomph which managed to wedge it enough. Presume there's no damage to the fins on the impellor?

Right in saying this is the same reason a lot of people don't like the HKS shroom filters?

The first post/pic was of a standard filter or what was left of it ?? Confused now   ???

Yes but it has been known for bits of the foam mushroom on the HKS to come off, never seen the whole thing been wedged into the inlet :) be it standard or after market...

What Rob was refering too was that this sort of thing has been known to happen with a HKS mushroom, and yes the first pic was of a standard 'fit it in airbox' type filter.
