Post by: Coyoteboy on January 22, 2014, 10:53:02 pm
The beasty has blown a ring/land. Down to 100psi on 4.

Big questions over it's continued life just now.

I'm pretty sure it's a ring land - misfire, low compression,no coolant pressurisation.

Still, need to rip the head off to figure it out anyway. Just trying to decide whether to go  fully forged again but this time with H beams, cams(264s) etc ,or just to put it back as stock and flog the bugger!

I'd go for a 270 cam set, as all the work has been done before this. >:D feel for you though, I'm in a similar position myself, but I am going to get it sorted out next week.

It is always a starting point. I had a Granada that I put a fast road cam in, and it was fun watching the speedo go like a rev counter and the rev counter going like a speedo. :D

Just thought, you are running megasquirt on it. It will run better than my Granada would running a standard ECU.
