Rest of the world isnt so hot, I'd not be in such a rush to leave. Everyone harps on about how nice NZ or Oz are to live in, but strangely I know 3 people who have gone and come back 5 or 6 years later having found its very similar to here, and worse in a few ways. Depends what you go for I suppose!

go to a proper foreign country where you cant speak the lingo - liek russia where its soo different you have little chance of learning it properly or reading it either.  that way you are exempt from all the politics and the crap the TV/Radio/Papers spurt out and you can live in your own little isolated world and think everyone is ace.  a bit like the olden days i guess.  it's the only way.
