Worth breaking my Sainz?
« on: May 16, 2008, 12:46:44 pm »
Hope i've posted this in the right place, if not could a mod move it?

I was just wondering whether it would be worth breaking my '92 GT4 Sainz rathetr than take a bad price for it.

I know you can get £200 for the bumper, £200 for the bonnet (mine needs a bit of filler and painted), £400 (?) for engine and box, £100 for the standard wheels....

I really couldn't be arsed breaking it, and i don't really know what else would be sought after from this car, so your input would be welcome.

Cheers,
Craig

Forgive my ignorance, but what's wrong with it that makes you want to break it?

Not much, needs a sill or a plate welded on it, and the bonnet was vandalised so needs a bit of filler and painted

i've no real interest in doing the work and i can no longer drive a manual car after an accident in my impreza a few years back

pics are on the ad on pistonheads, they don't show the damage to the bonnet though, or the rust on the sills.

as for getting an MOT to get it across the water, good luck with that one, you obviously haven't heard what NI MOTs are like!

prices for the boat aren't too bad, but we are in or coming into high season now, plus i think you need to double the price for the trailer, so maybe not economically viable. if you have trade plates then it would be far far cheaper, fly over and drive back  :D
