Complete 205 charge cooler *SOLD*
« on: January 30, 2008, 12:05:36 pm »
Hi all

I will soon be finished with my custom FMIC set-up on the 165. This means I will have up for sale a complete charge cooler set-up including, pipes, pump, rad etc. All in very good condition.

Anyone interested, drop me a PM with what you're willing to pay for it all. Dunno what these sell for nowadays? I remember the days you'd see them for £500+ but I recon £250+ would be a more realistic figure???

Let me know, Cheers ;)

Was sold, now back on the market again after the buyer had to pull out due to a cheap front mount kit coming available.

Open to sensible offers for this lot. Pump, rad, chargecooler, pipes, brackets, clamps, sensor...etc, you get the idea, the whole kit  :D

Hiya m8

The pump etc will be fine and go straight in. I can give you all the brackets etc I have for fitting the rad at the front etc. The charge cooler itself you will need to make up a couple of small brackets to fit on the same lugs the 165 one currently mounts too. This is the only thing I can't give you.

I can also supply you with plenty of photos of it fitted to my car for ref  ;)

Did you use the standard st165 rocker cover?

What about the pipe diameters out of the turbo and into the inlet manifold?

Sorry for all the questions :)

Ahh, sorry bud but I didn't explain something. Its fitted into a 165, so I have the mounts for the rad etc, BUT, I am running a 205 engine fella. I guess on a 165 engine the only probs you should encounter are the throttle body and the mounting on the engine itself. Now, the 165 and 205 rocker covers are very similar and because it already has a charge cooler, I think you will just need some small brackets to fit in the exisitsing holes?
Turbo inlet should be the same (there or there abouts) People fit CT20's on 165 and 185's after all and the existing pipes fit.

So that leaves the throttle body as your main and only real issue. I guess there you'd be best speaking to someone with a 185 who has done the conversion? I know there are a few out there.

Off the top of my head I'd say you just need the rubber flange from a 205 that bolts to the throttle body? Prolly get one off the many 205's being broke on eBay or from Martin Kingston who breaks them all the time?

Hope this helps fella  ;)

All I needed for mine was the adaptation to go from 50mm 185 throttlebody to 70mm 205 chargecooler. I did need the pipe to the turbo cutting and welding to meet up with the turbo. There's some pics in the how-to guide on tubby removal, it should show the welds on the CC.

HTH

Cheers

Think I will have to pass this month :(

Just found out that I need to buy a new helmet as mine is not MSA approved. Apparently being approved for motorcycle racing isn't good enough....
