3SGE engine complete
« on: November 26, 2007, 03:12:03 pm »
Hi all

While at my folks this weekend I was reminded that I still have a complete 3SGE from a 162 in the garage. Its a good runner so I'm told and was meant to be a replacement engine for my wife's car a few years back.
Its been in there a while covered up. It has everything on it, manifolds, throttle body etc etc...

They are good engines as I'm sure you all know. Its basically a 3SGTE without a turbo and they run slightly high compression. They run about 157bhp if I remember right and it would be a good spare for someone with an old 162 or maybe they can rebuild it while running there own?? It probably good for older MR2 or maybe 182 as well.

Maybe you are building a Kit car and need a reliable Jap engine??

Anyway, its there any open to offers if you come and take it away

Cheers

Spose it might be useful info to say the engine is located in Manchester for collection.

Hello Wiggy

Sorry to steal your thread!
Have been following Paul's conversion to coilovers, 2.25" diameter springs.
Have AGX's all round.
Any advice on spring rates and lengths?

Regards

Stephen

Hi m8

I went for 450 front and 350 rear. Length wise I had 8" mains with 4" assistors. This gave quite a hard ride. I think the tarmac rally celica ran around 550 front and 450 rear, which is very hard and you will bounce going round bends....lol

The good thing with coilovers is the springs are very cheap and you can chop and change to suit your own needs.
