Sounds fair, just make sure you get it checked out by someone who knows what theyre looking for first.  70k is big part replacement territory, good luck!

As Driveby said... be aware !! Belt & '8's will set you back a grand. Allow 500+ for sorting and for 5k you have a cracking motor!!
Previously a UK WRC ST205 & a CS (UK !*%)
Now.... a 1970 Triumph 13/60 convertible, a Hyindai Amica and a Honda CR-Z Hybrid :)

I would ask why the gearbox has been rebuilt at 70K and has the other expensive parts been done yet?
I am thinking engine could have been ragged and lots of bills around the corner, but on the other hand, why tell you the gearbox was rebuilt and the lower arms my have been done.

If you can, always ask if someone will take a look at the car with you.
Zephyr (Simon) is in Plymouth - nice guy.

Hi mate, welcome to the club. As said above, have someone have a look with you to check for the usual suspects, as £3300 sounds a very good price you can expect to have work to do on it should you choose to buy it.

Cheers

if you cannot afford to buy a good example, then you most certainly can't afford to buy a bad one.

old sports cars are money pits with a finite shelf life of factory parts. sooner or later everything needs replacing. £££ ouch.

p.s 8's = figure 8's = camber control arm links:

You ask about '8's??? they are the basics of the front suspension on a faff and can cost <£1000 to replace the worn bushes and arms and go about 70<80 k miles :)
