Why Hello GT4 lovin ppl!
« on: March 17, 2009, 02:39:03 pm »
Names Ricky, bought a 1990 Jap Import GT 4 St185 Rally, apparently a rare car am told ;) going to definitely join up as soon as I free up space on me credit card.

So my GT4 is going to become a rolling project car for a cruise and car enthusiast site http://www.northcoastcruisers.com which I help manage, run, and fix when the other staff members break it lol, going to take me a couple of years to do as it will be done as and when I can afford the bits, absolute complete novice at this stuff but am going to give it a blast

As she stands at the moment, 101,231 Km on the clock, already has a turbo timer
Everything seems in good nick, very small leak in the rear diff, hard to sort?

Plans are as follows...... Want to achieve between 250 reliably

Full service, which oils should I be using??
Change the head gasket and timing belts, then at least I know it is done
Repair Bolster on the drivers seat
Gauge Pod to compliment the gauges but also cover the nasty rip in the dash above the centre console lol
Tighten up the suspension
Boost Valve
Dump Valve
S/S Exhaust
Unichip, it is still limited to 112mph  but hopefully this will allow me to up the boost more, only thing I can find that does both here in Northern Ireland
Rims
Full Body Respray, Back to Original (the bonnet, roof and boot lid lol), this car is 3 shades of paint left side, right and center lol
Alarm
Nice sound system

If you think I should add to the list please do say, all comments are very welcome

Cheers

Ricky

Hi Ricky, WTTC

Looks like youve got yourself a nice little project there.
If it is the rally version (i.e. uber rare) it has the manual windows for a start, along with a close ratio gearbox, and a couple of other minor tweaks.
The winders on the window are the biggest giveaway.

I have similar plans for mine (respray and a reliable 250/270 bhp) and shouldnt be that hard to acheive, although 4 years on and im still sorting the reliability side of things lol.

Anyway, have a nose round and feel free to ask as many questions as u need, they're all pretty friendly on here  :)

Matt
