I'm holidaying in Italy next March/April and have done the 'tourist' areas.. what is recommended?
Previously a UK WRC ST205 & a CS (UK !*%)
Now.... a 1970 Triumph 13/60 convertible, a Hyindai Amica and a Honda CR-Z Hybrid :)

We have been to Sorrento, Rome, Limone, Sirmione, Venice, Belzarno....:)

been around then!

go to the islands, sardinia and corsica(even though its really france lol)

and sicily is worth a look

seems you've been mainly north and west, except for venice, try going further down the east coast, its really nice, and a lot more remote, lots of peace and quiet

and modena for the ferrari factory is a must if your in the area, its more in the north, right in the centre where the 'boot' starts on the map, but its got more tourists than locals usually so brace yourself

and if you fancy skiing, go to bardonnechia, thats where we have a house, very small town, some of the winter olympics were held there which kinda turned it all on its head for a while but thankfully its calming down now, but dont expect much except great ski ranges :)

Gratzi. I'm no skier, I like the quiet (sound of beer in a glass) so I'll look at the East coast & like you say the islands. Got a mate with family in Sicily and I think they just started flights from Newcastle.
