Title: Bout Ye
Post by: AndySpawn on July 11, 2010, 09:46:45 pm
Hi there from not so sunny Northern Ireland, just decided to join up after picking up my first gt-four, a jdm st185 rally from a mate, she needs some work but I'm going to try my best to bring her back to her former glory and get her back on the road.  Anyway hows everybody doing tonight?  ;D

Welcome 185er... Good luck with the restoration!

The first thing you should do is take lots of photos of the car, as it's easier than actually doing stuff to it. Also, we can get to see it too.

Oh, and i'm doing great, thanks for asking.

 :)

Welcome :) Definitely get some photos up so you fit in well with the 205 bunch (who do more photos than driving  ;D ).

But we'd like to see it anyway!

Thanks for the welcome guys, I'm a bit of a pic whore myself (must have about 100 pics of the 7) so I'll try and get some pics up as and when I get some work done on the 185, just need to get sills sourced first  00)

The gen 7 looks like its been given quite a bit of attention. The big question is though how does it compare to the 185?

Thanks guys, the 7 is my daily drive but I've been having fun getting her up to a decent spec (no engine mods yet  00) ).  Unfortunately haven't had the 185 out much as she's sorn'd but the acceleration always puts a smile on my face  ;D and the close ratio box makes things interesting  :o .  Anyway she needs a bit of attention so won't get her a proper run untill she's mot ready

Yes mate, manual windows, close-ratio gearbox, would have come with steelies, spartan interior  ;D

She's had a set of alloys added at some point in her life and a rear for but apart from that she is standard.

Needs some bodywork done (sills and the like), rear suspension, and exhaust.  Engine and gearbox seem good but I'll probably do a rebuild at some point in the near future
