hi there my name is amz i am currently looking to buy a st205 and found you guys through a search on yahoo, theres alot of good information on here to help me when buying one. i am pretty handy with tools and do alot of work on my cars myself, i was also a member of the civiclife.net forum i have owned 4 civics 3 of them being track cars most of the work was done myself, anyway i have pretty much made up my mind about buying a st205 not too keen on the looks of it but im sure the performance will change my mind once i'v done a few bits and bobs to it.

Welcome to the club mate. You are correct about the 205's looks, more like a hyundai really. Go for a nice st185 8)

Welcome Amz...byt the faff is the best looking 4, whatever others say!!!
It is also probably the most expensive to maintain so check out the SS suspension ('8's and arms) the clutch, rear diff mount and the turbo.

205 is far too fat to be a performance car, better off to find a nice 165 shell and build the bits of the later cars into it, THB its all they are really good for. ;)

Unfortunately Amz there is no such thing as a nice 165 shell, and there are plenty of things that are too fat to be any good at any performance. Stick to your guns and dont listen to the narrow minded irishmen. 8) 8)

Welcome to the club mate you've certainly picked the best of the four's, the Faff is the best looking, fastest etc. Plus you dont have to own a pair of flares or big shoulder pads like you do for the 165 & 185 :P

thats really upset me, my mum told me for years it was just because I had skinny ankles. :'( :'(

Hey amz, WTTC mate. Let us know how you go with looking for a car. Everyone has their opinions on what cars better, although they all know deep down the 185 is the best (just not everyone admits it ;D). 205 is still a nice car though, and ATB with your search for one :)

Besides a 185 is nothing more than a rebodied 165 with andn extra 40kgs tacked on, it was a marketing exercise designed to make the 'manly' GT4 more appealing to the limpwristed brigade.

dont worry people im still here i havnt left!! just been doing some research. and damn three pages for noob :D anyway thank you for all the kind welcomes and all the advice but i will be sticking to the 205 despite reading everyone fighting about which one is best ;D got a thing for that huge shell!!! it has a real presence on the road.
anyway i will be looking for the wrc spec, and i am thinking in black but im still not very sure wether i want white. another thing what have alot you guys used coilovers because i will be going for some just wanted to know what ones are good?
