Completely none 4 related but sort of car/petrol head related...

I've just finished spraying my motorbike fairings and have to say what a stella job I've done Cool

Until a few weeks ago I thought it was all going wrong, the paint job wasn't looking great and I had to do repair work to the paint because of idiots at work. I had a very small amount of paint left (special mix by myself and would be very hard to match to again) so every ml counted. Just had enough to finish the job...phew
Then came 5 coats of clear and after flatting back with 1500 and polishing back up with 3 grades of compound, plus polish, plus wax they all look bloody brilliant  Wink
I've spent today painting the frame and all I have left now is to fit a few trick parts and she's done...

Sorry but I had to tell someone, the missus couldn't care less.....lol Grin

They will be coming shortly  Wink

I'll take some snaps of the bike in its bare state tomorrow (with black frame) Want to do the swing arms as well but that can wait. I'd rather find a spare one and send it to Jerry for powder coating.
Just have a couple of fairings left to polish and then wait for my new black alloy fairing screws and dark smoke double bubble screen  Cool

Bit of history about it. I got it last April. It had been dropped and the fairings were a little scuffed and cracked. Needed a new headlight and indicator, plus a few other minor things to get it road worthy. Bonus was it had only done 7k miles and it was cheap Wink

I'll dig a pic out of it when I got it as well so you can see the transformation

Cheers guys, well chuffed with the result, especially because I did it all myself so a bit more self satisfaction for doing something that would have cost me a fortune had I paid for it  Wink

Next job, finish off the 162, pick up the wheels from Jerry in a few weeks and I managed to find some as new lowering springs to make it sit a bit nicer. Thinky about a respray now for that...lol Cheesy
