Kinda desperate to get the car on the road again so is it possible to fit different sized wheels to the front and rear of the car as long as the both have enough tread?
I.E. R18 225/45s no the rear and R16 205/60s on the front?

Some cars have different sizes as standard. The important thing on a 4 is that the diameter must be within a few % or you will damage the centre viscous coupling.
I think there's a ruling that the front mustn't have lower profile tyres than the back, and also front mustn't be wider than back but I'm not 100% sure on either.

As long as the axle sizes are matched them it should pass. Thats what the book says anyway.

Thats a good point. I used a tyre calculator on the net and the front are 25.7inches in diameter and the back 25.1inches which is 15mm but I don't plan on running it for long.

The difference between new tread (7mm) and illegal tread (1.5mm) in diameter terms is 11mm so 15 probably won't hurt for a short period.

JDMs don't have EGR : exhaust gas recirculation, part of the emission control system

Yea that's the theory anyway. How do you prove that there's no EGR?

On the last MOT (feb ish I think) my L reg ST205 needed a cat test for the first time. Apparently there is now an exact match in the database. I'd be interested to hear if anyone is still getting away with a non cat test since this.
