162 in scrappy near mine

Been sprayed minging yellow but things like lights front and rear are still intact. I'm not sure how much is technically similar to the 165 but I figured they're rare enough that this might help someone with cheap bits. The scrappy is super-cheap, just got a pair of chargecooler pumps (not off a four) and a mirror for a fiver.

What condition are the passenger wing and sunroof panel in?

Did it have the drivers side wing mirror in tact? I need just the glass so not arsed what nick the rest is in. TCB want £25 but I only need the glass.

I didnt get up to the sunroof but I can give it a look over (It'll be there next weekend im sure). From memory the mirrors were fine, the wings were unpleasantly sprayed (*BLEEP* surface) and going a tad rusty right at the edges but none had spread to the outer surfaces. I may be able to get there during the week but cant promise. What I'll do is I'll head out there, take a digi cam and return with photos. I'll grab things like mirror glass and if the sunroof is non-rusty I'll grab that too. I intended to return today but got caught up helping a mate out with his pajero. You will be amused to hear it was the only toyota in the entire (10acre?) scrap yard lol. Its on the top of a pair so it get people walking all over it unless they are specific 162 owners.

Top man! Any chance you'd be able to grab the rear view mirror as well? My glass is cracked down the middle :

Excellent, if you can grab me the wing mirror glass from both sides if they are OK. 165 bits are getting very hard to come by these days, so I'll have them both as spares for future  Cheers

Right, its bad news guys im afraid. Since saturday:

Its had a car clobbered into it, drivers wing now oddly shaped.Passenger  wing has rotted behind its respray and collapsed near mid-span.

Sunroof - blistered.

Rear view mirror - now gone.

Wing mirrors - in tact but he wont sell glass only so £10 a side, despite being hand-painted yellow :S "we cant sell the mirrors without the glass and so we'll charge you for the whole mirror - you wont get the glass out without breaking it anyway".

Seems he became a tit overnight

£10 a side is still cheaper than the £25 a side TCB wanted....

I beg to differ with them on not being able to get glass out without breaking it though, just takes time.

oh well...You never know, someone, somewhere will maybe start making them to fit the ST16* series one day.

I know, I got the glass out of one of them but he happened to be passing at the time and went loopy at me, made me put it back together on the spot. Like I say, he has become a tit. I can go back and get them if you still want them. How much do toyota want for them? They're very simple items.

Toyota say they can't get them anymore? They say that with most things for the 165 though these days.

Don't rush or put yourself out for them fella, get there when you can and when suits you best. Don't want you going out of your way especially for mirror glass...

Not had chance to get back there, mixture of work and no transport causing me a big headache at the moment, tempted to take a loan out to get a van lol. Its on my "162 list" for next time I go though.
