WTTC  Wink

that looks quite nice 185.

i'd really just check for any corrosion to the sills and front wings, smoking from the exhaust at idle and full boot (Jet black smoke at full bore is normal), clutch slip, crunching when changing gears (particuly 3rd), any knocking from the engine and a knock from the rear @ pull away.

general age related stuff really.

pretty bullet proof apart from that...lol

happy shopping  Wink

Get some of your own pics up ;

On the performance side, it should still pull away with spirit, 0-60 ~7 seconds

Rear discs may show signs of scoring and a 'lip' round the outer edge, and also grinding from bearings

Not wanting to put you off at all, cos the 4 as a fantastic vehicle Cheesy:D:D

WTTC mate. car looks okay, but i would check a few more things before buying. Personally, I would also check for any error codes, see the hot-to section for instructions (its really easy). Also, I would get a compression test done because if its down on compression on a cylinder then the motor will need rebuilding at some stage. Also, just check for stuff like play in the wheel bearings, and take it for a drive and listen for any unusual noises and to make sure it pulls good. HTH

You've made the right choice the faff is definitely the right four to buy. Just make sure the front Fig 8s and lower arms have been done along with the rear diff mount.

looks a really nice car though  Cool

I struggled with the English then realised it was Scottish! 4's rock but so does the written word.
Try them both and settle for what you prefer?
Lots of owners up your way would give you an insiders viewpoint.
How old are you mate? Insurance may be a problem Smiley
